Entrepreneurs’ Organisation grooms local entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (EO), a global peer-to-peer network of entrepreneurs, has held its maiden strategic meeting aimed at influencing leading business owners to acquire innovative ideas that will grow their ventures into successful big-ticket brands.

The business meeting was among other objectives also targetted at bringing together business executive and entrepreneurs to champion the establishment of a local chapter to spearhead the country’s economic growth in job-creation and employment generation.

EO is a global peer-to-peer network of more than 11,000 influential business owners with 143 chapters in 46 countries worldwide. Founded in 1987, EO is the catalyst that enables leading entrepreneurs to learn and grow; leading to greater success in business and beyond.

Its member companies now generate a combined amount of US$536billion in annual revenue and employs more than 2.4 million people. The average EO member has generated at least US$1million in revenue growth during the past 12 months.

Gilberto CrombĂ©, Global Chairman of the Entrepreneurs Organisation, making a presentation to the business executives in Accra explained the country’s economic success hinges on entrepreneurs, which is crucial in turning the economy around as the country’s future rests on entrepreneurship.

He explained that the country boasts pool of entrepreneurs, and the potential to promote economic growth is huge -- hence the need to expand in the country. “The country needs to shift its economic focus from export commodities and turn more toward entrepreneurship.”

Commenting on the organisation, Mr. Crombe advised business owners in the country to be willing to start and sustain its establishment with the help of their Nigerian counterparts, who already have a chapter.

“Our focus is not on policy. We are concerned about the entrepreneurs and how they can succeed; but they must however be willing to learn and share,” he said.

The main mission of the organisation, he said, is to engage leading entrepreneurs to learn and grow business ventures by providing a platform that will bring the entrepreneurs together. It enables entrepreneurs to learn from each other and grow, leading to greater business success and an enriched personal life.

“EO empowers entrepreneurs to develop as leaders in their businesses and communities, by creating opportunities for deep and meaningful transformation. Members tap into a network of experts on an as-needed basis, drawing from the experience of others in areas such as medical treatment, business advice, life skills coaching and more,” he said.

The organisation enriches members’ lives by providing benefits drawn from three dynamic areas comprising peer-to-peer learning, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and connections to experts.

“Members share their personal and professional challenges in a confidential, non-competitive environment. They learn and grow by sharing their experiences with peers, not simply by listening to advice.
“Not only do EO members attend unique conferences in cities all over the world, they also receive access to exclusive social events, behind-the-scenes invitations, and exciting networking opportunities,” Mr. Crombe remarked.
