The versatile JCB Backhoe Loader unveiled

The JCB Backhoe 3DX super loader excavator has been introduced into the Ghanaian automobile and construction market.

The 92-horsepower loader with one cubic metre front bucket and 0.24 cubic metre rear bucket is specially designed for the African market, is very versatile and comes with the ability to load, excavate, lift and transport itself between sites.

The front bucket is the famous six in one shovel with six functions such as dozing; loading; digging; grabbing; grading and backfilling -- suitable for construction work.

Because the JCB 3DX super is used by customers all over the world, it’s been tested to be rigorous in climates ranging from -20°C to 50°C. Its engine has excellent filtration and robust fuelling to handle varying fuel quality.

The new 3DX super backhoe loader has also been stress-tested across 1.2 million cycles of the hardest digging and dump situations, making every part of this the machine perform the very toughest duties over thousands of hours.

To protect the 3DX super backhoe from damage, it comes with fitted steel fenders, bonnet and nose. The excavator end is heavily reinforced with thick steel, and there are replaceable wear plates on the bucket and dipper to protect this JCB backhoe loader from hard material like rock.

The new machine uses JCB’s own special backhoe loader driveline. This is a popular, trusted, well-proven unit that works in perfect harmony with machines for ultimate uncompromised performance.

CFAO Ghana Limited, the official authorised dealer of JCB Backhoe 3DX super loaders in the country, has entered into a partnership with Societe Generale to provide flexible financial arrangements for customers interested in buying the equipment.

 Dubbed ‘Money Making Machine’, the JCB 3DX super backhoe loader has a narrow-profile boom and dipper for superb visibility when excavating.

Mr. Isaac Adjei Mensah, the Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, unveiling the machine in Accra aimed at introducing the multi-purpose loaders to assist contractors and construction firms to be more efficient and effective.

“Road construction is capital intensive, and for that matter they need quality, robust and durable equipment like the JCB Backhoe 3DX super loaders to enable them execute a quality job.”

He explained that the country’s road network has doubled over the years from 35,000 kilometres to 70,000 kilometres; hence, the contractors cannot continue to maintain or construct new roads without this multi-purpose heavy equipment. 

The Minister said the equipment perfectly fits into road construction and any other heavy duty activities close to the consumers.

Mr. Mensah encouraged management of CFAO to take advantage of the enabling environment to do more investments in the country, especially assembling some of their equipment in the country.

Mr. Bruno Gobilliard, Executive Director, CFAO Equipment, confirmed that the equipment comes with an up-to-5,000 hour free warranty or five years warranty on the powertrain. 

The company has introduced after sales service with a high experience team of certified engineers all over the country, and spare-parts are available in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi offices, too. 

He said the concept of backhoe loader had been created by JCB and the first unit arrived on the market on 1953; and since then JCB has become the worldwide leader in the backhoe range of products. 

“Since then, we’ve remained the market leader, selling around half of all the world’s backhoe loaders thanks to pioneering features. 

“We use a high pressure efficient hydraulic system with large hydraulic cylinders. This provides the 3DX super backhoe loader with big tear-out forces -- perfect for hard ground and arduous digging,” he said.
