Accra to host Soccerex event next year

Soccerex, the football events organisation based in Chiswick, London, has proven its commitment to promoting the growth of football business worldwide with its plan to host an inaugural event in Ghana next year.

Soccerex is the global leader for the football business industry, organising events all over the world. The Soccerex Global Convention, the company’s flagship event, brings together businesses of all sizes that work in the football industry, as well as many of football’s current stars and legends of the game.

The upcoming gathering in Accra is one of the best platforms to share ideas aimed at transforming the game on the continent. It is a good platform to discuss issues about development of football in Africa.
The seminar is expected to take place in partnership with the Ghana Football Association as well as the business community to provide a commercial platform for key global industry stakeholders to network, foster new business links and share knowledge in one of football’s most lucrative emerging markets.
Soccerex CEO Duncan Revie said: “It’s an honour to host the forum in Ghana. Ghana’s incredible performance at the World Cup in South Africa and their rise up the FIFA world rankings is an example of the progress of African football on the world stage and the excellent work being done by the Ghana Football Association.

“It is a pleasure to be working with our exclusive partners of Inspiration and Energy Limited towards potentially brining a Soccerex forum to Ghana.”

The Soccerex African Forum will bring together 1,000 senior football decision makers together with businesses from across the continent and the world for unrivalled learning, networking and opportunities to unite the business of football in Africa.

An international strategic business investment management consultancy group, Inspiration & Energy Limited, based in the UK, has been commissioned and mandated by Soccerex to host this world-class event in Accra.

“We are privileged to have accepted an offer by Soccerex to bring this fascinating project to Ghana,” said chairman of Inspiration and Energy Limited Evans Amoah-Nyamekye, who is also a Ghanaian-born UK-based practising lawyer.

“As an international investment firm, we have identified Ghana as a key location for potential investment and development. Over recent years we have introduced numerous serious investors to the country; they are aware that Ghana is open for business and are committed in working with Inspiration and Energy Ltd.

“We have taken the view that by our involvement, we will unite the business side of football to Ghana; it is the biggest event of its kind around the world,” he explained.

Given the issues surrounding Ghana in the recent World Cup, Mr. Amoah-Nyameke said it will be an opportunity for the country to rebrand itself and also bring in significant investment.

Economically, football has a significant impact, driven by a strong sports sector which includes major football brands such as Adidas and Umbro, financial and professional services, sports manufacturers, design companies and biomedical organisations.

This, alongside the architects, engineers, construction companies and project management organisations which specialise in sports stadiums and infrastructure, equates to an increasingly important industry sector, which makes a significant contribution to the local economy.

The event will also allow businesses in the country to capitalise on new investors, tourism and new trade markets.
Inspiration and Energy Ltd. has also arranged for suitable people in the country to receive full VIP treatment at the grand Manchester global event in London from September 6-10, 2014. This is a unique opportunity and only permissible through the Inspiration and Energy Ltd. approved network, Amoah-Nyamekye said.
