World Trade Centre leads industrialists to explore trade prospects in China


The World Trade Centre (WTC) Accra has encouraged Ghanaian industrialists to deepen their trade and investments relations with China to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.


Speaking at a pre-departure briefing in Accra for representatives of 20 Ghanaian companies embarking on trade and investment mission to four business cities in China, Mr. Emmanuel Doni-Kwame- Managing Director, WTC Accra-said the trade mission is aimed at introducing Ghanaian industrialists to global firms and prospective partners in the areas of manufacturing, construction, extractives and infrastructure, finance and investment among others sectors.

The sixth trade and investment mission spearhead by the WTC Accra scheduled for 19th September, Mr. Doni-Kwame said the engagement is as well expected to strengthen collaboration between the two countries and foster business opportunities for trade and investment.

He urged the business delegation to make strong presentations of their various companies during the visit to attract investors into the country, adding that China is noted to be the global manufacturing hub.

The business-to business meeting, he said, will help the companies to make connections and thereafter increase business, form new partnerships and explore global markets, as well as learn from international trade experts and world-class keynote speakers.

He urged the business leaders to take advantage of the global network to enhance their businesses and win new partners, adding that the trade relationship between China and Ghana needs to be mature.
“Ghanaian business officials need to use the opportunity to identify partners for the growth of the small and medium businesses in the country.”  

Mr. Bright Awuye, a director at the Research Department at the WTC Accra explained that the Ghanaian officials will participate in breakout business sessions, hear from experts and hold one-on-one meetings to introduce Ghana and prospective businesses to more than 50 business leaders operators from China.

The Centre has organised successful trade missions to Brazil, the United States of America, Italy and China, among others, to enable Ghanaian companies exhibit their products for business opportunities and investments.
