GRA holds two-day change management seminar for staff



The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has held a two-day change management seminar to enable some selected staff to become change champions that will ensure robust processes in their various departments.

Mrs. Vivian Adusei, the Deputy Commissioner for Small Tax Office, speaking at the seminar held in Prampram, under the topic: “The Heart of Change and Winning Together Is Truly At the Core of What GRA Does”, observed that there has been a changes in various shapes and forms at GRA including “our logos, processes, procedures and even our deliveries.  

“True change starts from all of us and trickles down to empower our change agents in their operational activities. The real winners in life are the people who look at every situation with an expectation that they can make it work or make it better.”

Edwin Gbekor, a Change Management Consultant who was the lead facilitator, emphasised that the change management champions must be equipped with “back to basics skills” such as reading, listening, presentation and writing skills to make them more versatile and efficient in handling their day to day activities of the organisation.

The General Manager of West Blue Consulting, Mr. Uthman O. Aminu making a presentation on the Ghana National Single Window (GNSW) programme explained that the main objective of the GNSW Programme is to improve national trade competitiveness within the West African sub region and on the international stage.

He added that, the programme is customer centric and with the core motive to facilitate trade by ensuring 50 percent better, faster and less cost trading across border environment within three years for the port communities.

“As part of the implementation of the programme, E-zones will be established at key location sites to provide client support services to achieve the goals and objectives of the Ghana National Single Window programme.”

The Customs Liaison Manager for West Blue consulting, Mr. Adedapo Adegoke explained that the Pre Arrival Reporting System (PAARS), a component under the Ghana National Single Window (GNSW) programme is simply a means of declaring an intention to import goods into Ghana.
