Newmont
Africa has announced the appointment of Kwame Addo-Kufuor and Robert Agbozo to
its Africa Regional Leadership Team.
Kwame Addo-Kufuor has assumed the position of
Regional Chief Financial Officer (RCFO) with accountability for the Region’s
Finance, Business Planning, Tax, Internal Audit and Information Technology
services, while Robert Agbozo has been appointed Senior Director, Legal Affairs,
with responsibility for the region’s Legal and Ethics Compliance services.
Prior to joining Newmont, Kwame was Vice President,
Corporate Affairs of AngloGold Ashanti where he held various leadership roles
including Head of Finance-West Africa Division, Senior Manager (Financial
Reporting) at the Corporate Office in Johannesburg, and Director of AngloGold
Ashanti Ghana Ltd.
Kwame also worked with Pricewaterhouse London, is a
Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and
member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana. He has held various
senior positions in Ghana’s mining industry, including First Vice President of
the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
Robert Agbozo, who will
have oversight responsibility for Newmont Africa’s Legal Function, assumes the
role of Board Secretary to Newmont Ghana Gold Limited and Newmont Golden Ridge
Limited’s Board of Directors. Prior to taking up his new role, Robert was the
Manager, Legal Affairs.
Robert was previously an Associate Legal Counsel at
Reindorf Chambers, an Accra law firm, and also worked with the British Council
in various management roles including Regional HR Change Project Manager for
East and West Africa.
