The new C-Class heralds a new chapter in the
Mercedes-Benz success story and sets new standards in the premium medium-size
category.
It is the benchmark in weight saving, aerodynamics
and noise levels. It also has the best ratings in safety.
Nouhad Kalmoni, CEO, Silver Star Auto, authorised
distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Ghana, said this at the launch of a new range
of C, A and S classes of Mercedes.
He said on a visual level, the new C-Class is a bold
departure from its predecessor. Its striking and dynamic design clearly exudes
sensuality and arouses the emotions.
The hallmark proportions of the Mercedes
saloon are seen in the long bonnet, the far-sitting passenger compartment and
the short overhangs. From the sides, dropping lines also highlight a typical Mercedes-Benz
signature.
“As has become the trend; the new C-Class offers two
different front-end designs: the bold sports grille with the central star for
the Avantgarde and Standard design line, and the classic radiator grille with
the star atop the bonnet for the Exclusive design line. These front-end designs
demonstrate the effortless superiority of the Mercedes-Benz design,” Mr.
Kalmoni explained.
He said rear design emphasises width and its powerful
shoulders give the C-Class another striking athletic appearance. Rear light
design is distinctive and gives the car and unmistakable identity in the dark.
Mr. Kalmoni said the Interior design in the C-Class
is on a level that can be found in higher vehicle categories. This applies to
the carefully chosen high-class materials and precision of the finely-crafted
details. In fact, when passengers settle into their seats in the new C-Class
they will experience an uplifting experience…like being upgraded from economy
to business class in an airliner.
Meanwhile, Stuttgart-based Mercedes-Benz sold more
cars than ever before in 2014. The brand with the star delivered 1,650,010
vehicles to customers -- representing a 12.9% increase and achieving the fourth
record year in a row.
Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of
Management, Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said the automobile
giant is on a course of success.
