General
distributor of Mercedes Benz in Ghana, Silver Star, has outdoored the latest in
the E-Class range of Mercedes in Accra.
Speaking at
the ceremony, CEO of Silver Star Nohard Kalmoni said with the new E-Class, Mercedes
Benz has taken the biggest ever step into the future of automobile.
“Beyond
elegant styling and a luxurious interior, the 2016 E-Class scores excellent marks
for technical innovations and thereby becomes benchmark in its segment as the
most intelligent business sedan,” he said.
Among the
range of state-of-the-art features in the 2016 E-Class is the remote parking
pilot, which allows the car to be moved in and out of tight parking spaces via
a smart phone application.
It also has
the car to car information exchange which was pioneered by Mercedes-Benz in
2013, and which operates as an early warning system, alerting a driver before
he gets to the vicinity of an imminent danger or traffic situation.
Included as
a function within the driving assistance package is the cars’ ability to detect
lateral collissions, where the system inflates an air chamber in the front
seats which moves the occupant further into the car, away from the door.
This
increases the distance from the point of impact and reduces the forces acting
on the occupant.
The 2016
E-Class range also has 84 individually controlled high-performance LEDs which
automatically illuminate the road with a precision-controlled distribution of
exceptionally bright light, without dazzling other road users.
“These and
many more comprise the wealth of innovative technologies that constitute the
Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive,” Nohard Kalmoni said. “The combination of
accident-evasive and stress free driving functions in the E-Class makes the
vehicle the most intelligent business sedan in its segment. With this
Mercedes-Benz takes a step further on the road to accident-free and autonomous
driving.
Mr Kalmoni
said even though the automobile market has become more competitive over the
last two decades, the company remains guided by its moto of “quality service,
our passion,” as it strives to maintain market leadership.
He assured
Mercedes Benz customers that the days where they had to send their cars to
places like Japan for repairs are over as the company has opened express
service centres on the Graphic Road in Accra, in Tema, whilst one is coming up
soon in Kumasi.
“Silver Star
Auto Ltd. Will be twenty years old next year and for the past decade, we have
occupied the leadership of the premium segment of the auto market in this
country. This could not be achieved without your loyalty, support and positive
critique of our services,” Mr Kalmoni told customers.
