SEND-GHANA has presented laptop computers and
accessories to District Citizens Monitoring Committees (DCMCs) in the Upper
East Region to facilitate monitoring of government pro-poor policies,
report-writing, and enhance research and administrative work.
The beneficiary DCMCs institutions are
from Kasena-Nankana Municipal Assembly, Bongo District and Bawku Municipal
Assembly.
The Director of Advocacy Programmes SEND-GHANA,
Clara Osei-Boateng, presenting the items to DCMCs at a short ceremony
during the Upper East Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) review
meeting in Bolgatanga said: “SEND-GHANA appreciates the partnership with the Focal
Non-Governmental Organisations (FNGOs) who happen to be the solid grass-root
implementers of our unique PM&E framework”.
She said the
gesture is to resource them in order to give of their best.
According to
her, the development of every nation depends on the contribution of everybody,
no matter how small the contribution is, and therefore there is a need for
representatives of the beneficiary FNGOs to take advantage of the computers to
build their capacity in development work.
The Chief
Executive Officer of Navrongo Women Health and Development, Madam Patricia
Kanluke, said her office is in dire need of computers and therefore the
presentation could not have been made at a better time.
She
expressed gratitude to SEND-GHANA for the kind gesture and promised to use the
computer to enhance her work in order to drive development to beneficiaries of
SEND’s projects in her area.
She appealed
to other Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organisations
(NGOs) operating in the region to support FNGOs to do their work effectively.
