Alliance Motors outline ambitious plans ..…£2.75b to grow Jaguar and Land Rover

Alliance Motors Ghana says its ambitious plan within the Ghanaian automobile industry is to invest over £2.75 billion in products and facilities to sustain growth of the company by March 2014.
“We are creating new employment opportunities for Ghanaians: and, critically, the technical transfer of world-class skills and knowledge is an investment in our country as much as in our business -- it will extend to and impact many Ghanaians.
“Being entrusted with the Jaguar and Land Rover nameplates for Ghana is an honour and a challenge that our team is eager to conquer. The country has significant demand for Land Rover products and a booming economy that will support Jaguar growth,” Sudeep Ray, Director of Alliance Motors Ghana, told B&FT after a press briefing in Accra.
The event, aimed at announcing that Alliance Motors Ghana -- a subsidiary of Tata Africa Holdings (Ghana) Limited --has now completed the take-over of its former franchisee’s facilities to support Jaguar Land Rover customers with servicing of vehicles.
The event was also to announce Jaguar Land Rover sub-Sahara Africa’s (JLRSSA) first official combined dealership in the country.
By this facility, the country becomes the latest African market to benefit from official Jaguar Land Rover presence and will meet global standards for the premium brands.
“Ghana is an important sub-Saharan market for Jaguar Land Rover. We have recently released our full-year results and the SSA region saw a 14% growth year on year. Ghana played an important role for the SSA region in helping to achieve these outstanding results,” said Nigel Clarke, Operations Director of JLR SSA.
“The investment by Alliance Motors is significant and a sure sign of their commitment to delivering the Jaguar and Land Rover experience to Ghanaian customers.”
The Ghana facility will provide full support for Jaguar and Land Rover customers in Ghana, including sales, service and a parts warehouse.
Mr. Clarke explained that the dealership is part of efforts to ensure that prospective and existing Jaguar and Land Rover owners benefit from the same high support standards “we have implemented elsewhere in the region.

“Jaguar Land Rover SSA, represented by Alliance Motors, looks forward to demonstrating its elevated capabilities in terms of sales, service and parts support for the growing Ghana market.”

He indicated that the SSA has made significant investment across the continent to ensure that Jaguar and Land Rover owners benefit from a level of service and support wholly in keeping with the high standards inherent in every vehicle of the Jaguar Land Rover range.

He said the investment has been made not just in buildings technology, equipment, parts and service, but in people who were fully conversant with providing the service-edge that adds to the satisfaction derived from driving a truly great brand.

“As a company, we constantly endeavour to provide world-class support through our approved dealership network; and to this end, we can report that we have been hard at work in Ghana to ensure that prospective and existing Jaguar and Land Rover owners will benefit from the same high support standards we have implemented elsewhere in the region,” Mr. Clarke said.

“We welcome Alliance Motors Ghana to the Jaguar Land Rover team, and will provide them with every support needed to make our Ghana operation a success,” said Kevin Flynn, Managing Director of JLR SA & SSA.
“They are already close to our broader parent company, and we are confident of their abilities and experience to deliver impeccable service to Jaguar and Land Rover customers in Ghana,” Mr. Flynn remarked.
